On July 21, 2010, FDIC deposit insurance was permanently increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor, per insured depository institution for each account ownership category. Health Savings Accounts and Tiered Interest Checking Accounts do not qualify for this program, but fall under the regular FDIC’s insurance program.
